Alex moved to Italy in August 2000 to teach Business English in Milan and Bologna. After 3 years he co-founded TJ Taylor, a corporate training company, and as partner he focusses on project management, marketing and leading the teaching team, as well as occasional communication seminars on virtual teams and international presentations.
He grew up in Northern Ireland, studied Earth Science at the University of Oxford and trained to be a Petroleum Engineer with BP, before moving to Milan.
Alex has taught in a wide variety of sectors including the pharmaceutical, digital, manufacturing and technology sectors, at all levels from CEOs and Presidents to new graduates and interns.
Alex’s research interests are in spacing learning, using technology in the classroom, and raising awareness of modern teaching methods. He is currently compiling a list of Italian-English false friends, and has recently published a book on HR terminology in English.
